City of Glass Book Jacket

Here it is! The long awaited words from the back cover of City of Glass by Cassandra Clare. Who's screaming out loud? I am.

City of Glass

With two of the Mortal Instruments now in Valentine's hands, the world
of the Shadowhunters teeters on the brink of civil war. Jace and the
Lightwoods are recalled to Idris, the Shadowhunters' remote and hidden
home country, where a search has begun for the last of the
Instruments, the Mortal Glass. When Clary breaks the Law to follow
Jace to Idris, hoping to find the warlock who might cure her mother,
she finds herself caught up in the chaos as the delicate social order
of the Nephilim begins to shatter, pitting Downworlder against
Downworlder and Shadowhunters against each other. As Clary grows
closer to Sebastian, a mysterious new Shadowhunter, Jace, driven by
guilt and despair, sets out on a suicide mission to kill his father
and end the war. With the City of Glass itself under attack, can
Downworlders and Nephilim fight together to defeat Valentine, or will
their longstanding hatred destroy them all? And when Clary discovers
the unbelievable truth about her own past, can she find Jace before
it's too late?

She has to! Aaaaah! Woohoo! I can't wait! People need to read these books if you haven't already.

Um...hello?

Sophie, I didn't spoil anything. I wrote right there that it was some of the guesses going around about who Sebastian is. He doesn't come in until the third book and nobody knows for sure who he is except that Jace gets jealous of him. Read more carefully. I made sure not to spoil anything. I have been keeping everything a secret and will continue to.

And one more thing about our little friend Sebastian, Cassandra Clare has informed us that he has dark hair and dark eyes and Clary finds him 'hot'. She better not fall for him! But, more to the point, can anyone say Notch? Maybe Daegan? No? Yes. Exactly. But I'm still Team Jace all the way.

Thanks Emma...

I have no idea who sebastian is and now i know that he is Clary's brother and she likes him. Good job with keeping a lid on it. Gosh, your such a hypocrite!!!!!

An Isopod is Cute in the Eyes of Another Isopod

Bathynomous Giganteus. The scariest bug under the sea. Actually, it's an isopod, or a louse. Those things can be, like TWO FEET long! A two foot long LOUSE!

Um, I don't mean to sound rude, but Ralph? What? Qu'es-ce que c'est? I haven't really been around here a lot but.... O.O Who are you?

Eating my chocolate cat. Yumm...

Ok, not much to say. See yas!

Troublesome day for J.K.

Poor J.K. Rowling. She sure has been through a lot. Here is a news post from Mugglenet. (Yes, those are the guys who do Mugglecast.)

WSJ provides report from first part of today's trial
WSJ provides report from first part of today's trial The Wall Street Journal's Law Blog has been updated with a lengthy report of everything that occurred this morning in court prior to lunch. Of particular interest to us was Jo's testimony, which is very heartfelt:

“I don’t want to cry, because I’m British,” said Rowling, breaking down a bit, “but the [Harry Potter books] meant setting aside my children.” If that was a show of weakness on Rowling’s part, to the Law Blog’s sensibilities, it was effective in making her seem sympathetic. It was also a counterpoint to testimony that was otherwise declarative and authoritative.

“This trial has decimated my creative work over the last month,” said Rowling. “You lose the [plot] threads and worry whether you’ll be able to pick them up again.”

“Should my fans be flooded with a surfeit of substandard books — so called lexicons — I’m not sure I’d have the will or heart to continue,” said Rowling, who went on to characterize the H.P. Lexicon as “sloppy,” “lazy,” and “incorrect.”

Go Jo! We're behind you all the way. It's also interesting to learn that British people don't like to cry.

I also found an interesting point made by a member of The Mortal Instruments Google Group, was in the discussion 'Sebastian'. She said: So it will kind of be like sebastian wants clary who wants jace who wants clary but thinks she doesn't want him to be more then a brother?
If so, that will be intense.

Intense indeed. There is also the possibility that he is Clary's older brother roaming around. If so;

Clary: "I like you."
Jace: "I'm your brother."
Clary: "Dammit." Goes to Idris. Meets Sebastian. "I like you."
Sebastian: "I'm your brother."
Clary: "Dammit. I have a soft spot for siblings. I'll have kids with six toes."

Yeah, hopefully something will work out for her. For her kids sakes.

so sad...

I find it really sad that when city of glass comes out, we will all be separated. Cody and Shauna are going to the IB program, sara, lishi and i are rushlets, emma and katie are going to ESA, and Olivia is going to UFA. (If i'm forgetting anyone, I am sooooo sorry!) Livi, you a loner out of the blog. I really hope we are still going to stay in touch. I think that every month starting in september, the blog members (and perhaps others) should meet together and go to the mall or sompin. Cody and Shauna, you two NEVER blog!! BLOG BLOG BLOG!!

Sara, I need your input on my essay. Lishi and Emma said it was good, but I bet they are just saying that..... :)

Le Violette

Lowly violet, silent blowing, Dewy fragrance sweet bestowing; Modestly thy charms half hiding 'Neath the leaflets, 'neath the leaflets green recesses, Thy example calms and blesses, My ambition gently chiding, Bear this message, tender flower.

That's part of the song in English translation. Can somebody translate it into dumb-as-a-doornail now?
