Follow Up to Original Chapter One.
As would you. Clary lay on her back, staring sleeplessly up at the
ceiling of Luke’s spare room. She had no idea what Magnus might have
meant by that. Her gift was for runes, and she didn’t see how that
would help in her current situation. Besides, her ability was still
fairly uncontrolled — she shivered a little, thinking about the way
she’d destroyed Valentine’s ship, leaving nothing but layers of ash
and torn slabs of metal floating on top of the gray waters of the East
River. She hadn’t even meant to do it, not really …
She turned on her side, wrapping her arms around herself. She hadn’t
even bothered to change into her pajamas when she’d gotten back to
Luke’s; she’d just thrown herself on her bed, fully dressed. Luke had
been waiting for her on the sofa with a bag of takeout Chinese and
that “Let’s Talk” expression that parents always got when you really
didn’t want to talk. She’d turned down the food and the conversation
in favor of lying on the pullout bed in the spare room and staring dry-
eyed at the wall. She couldn’t even cry any more. She’d cried herself
out. Now she just felt empty and furious, conscious of a desire to
smash things with her bare hands to let her fury out. Except that
smashing Luke’s stuff wouldn’t really make her feel better. If only
she had some of Jace’s things. Smashing those might help.
She sat up. She did have a t-shirt he’d lent her once, she thought.
Maybe ripping it seam from seam would relieve her feelings. Her duffel
bag was in the closet; she dragged it out and knelt down to sift
through the contents. It was weird, she reflected, living out of a bag
for all this time; she supposed she might as well unpack, hang her
stuff up in Luke’s closet, but that would feel so permanent…
She tossed aside a bookmarked copy of Angel Sanctuary with a frown. It
had once been one of her favorites, but since it was a manga about a
brother who was in love with his sister, it probably wasn’t the right
reading material these days. Underneath it was her drawing pad, open
to a picture she’d drawn of Madam Dorothea’s tarot card, the Ace of
Cups.
Frowning, she picked up the pad and gazed down at the sketch. She
hadn’t colored it yet, but she thought she’d caught the energy of the
drawing, the hand gripping the stem of the cup so tightly the knuckles
seemed to bulge. She remembered the way the drawing had rippled and
changed under her hand as she’d looked at it, the Cup changing from a
painted representation to the real thing…
She sat up straight, her heart suddenly pounding. What her mother had
done — trapping the image of something real inside a drawing — it
wasn’t something Clary had ever done, but it was certainly close.
Clearly, the gift she had, of drawing and of runes, was derived from
her mother. If her mother could trap reality in a drawing, than
couldn’t there be a way…?
Clary stood up, dropping the sketchpad onto her bed, and began a mad
hunt for her stele. She found it finally, under a scarf casually
tossed on top of her nightstand. She wondered vaguely if perhaps real
Shadowhunters treated their steles with more respect — if Jace was
here she’d probably get a lecture — but the thought passed out of her
mind as soon as she lifted the stele and realized it was vibrating, as
if it could sense her excitement.
Tightening her grip on it, she turned to face the wall. Luke had never
really decorated this room, and the wall was bare except for a Chinese
fan pinned up in a corner. The pale blue paint was peeling slightly.
She tightened her grip on the stele and it vibrated harder. Steady on,
she told herself. If she was going to do this, she had to be very
careful. She remembered the shudder Valentine’s ship had given as it
wrenched itself apart, depositing everyone on it into freezing water.
Control, she thought. That’s the key here. Control . . .

:S
I have been practicing the polka for some reason. It's really easy! Anyone want to learn the polka? I want to learn the waltz. I have this beautiful music set to a waltz. It would be so pretty...
Whilst dancing, I've been listing and singing to Finnish folk music, (Ievan's Polkka anyone?) so I'm glad no one was there to see it.

Original City of Glass Chapter One
It took Clary several moments to peel the glamour off the Institute today.
It felt as if another layer of disguise had been added to the old cathedral,
like a new coat of paint. Scraping it off with her mind felt hard, even
painful. Finally it was gone and she could see the church as it was. The
high wooden doors gleamed as if they'd just been polished.
She put her hand to the knob. *I am Clary Fairchild, one of the Nephilim,
and I ask entrance to the Institute —*
The door swung open. Clary stepped inside. She looked around, blinking,
trying to identify what it was that felt somehow different about the
cathedral's interior —
She realized it as the door swung shut behind her, prisoning her in a
blackness relieved only by the dim glow of the rose window far overhead. She
had never been inside the entrance to the Institute when there had not been
dozens of flames lit in the elaborate candelabras lining the aisle between
the pews.
She took her witchlight stone out of her pocket and held it up. Light blazed
from it, sending shining spokes of illumination flaring out from between her
fingers. It lit the dusty corners of the cathedral's interior as she made
her way to the elevator set into the wall near the bare altar. She jabbed
impatiently at the call button.
Nothing happened. After half a minute went by, she pressed the button again
— and again. She laid her ear to the elevator door and listening. Not a
sound. The Institute had gone dark and silent, like a mechanical doll whose
clockwork heart had finally run down.
Clary took a step back and collapsed into one of the pews. The seat was
hard, narrow and uncomfortable, but she barely noticed. They were gone. Gone
to Idris, where she couldn't follow. Gone out of her life, taking Simon to
where she couldn't protect him. She remembered Magnus saying,* "When your
mother fled from the Shadow World, it was them she was hiding from. Not the
demons. The Shadowhunters." *He had been right, and she had been wrong to
trust the Nephilim. She had thought the Lightwoods cared about her, but all
that mattered to any of them was their precious Clave. Even Jace —
At that thought, her throat contracted and she felt the tears come in a hot
flood. She sat sobbing, clutching the witchlight stone to her chest, where
it pulsed and glowed like a heart. *Jace*. How could he do this to her?
"Clary." The soft voice came unexpectedly out of the silence behind her,
making her whirl around in her seat. A tall figure stood behind her, arms
and legs like long ungainly spokes. He wore a black velvet suit over a
shimmering emerald green shirt and a number of brightly jeweled rings
glittered on his narrow fingers. There were fancy boots involved as well,
and a deal of glitter.
"Magnus?" Clary whispered.
"Clary, my darling." His voice was as musical as ever. He sat down next to
her in the pew, his cloak moving around him like smoke. "Are you all right?"
"No. They're gone — and they took Simon — Jace called me and he said — he
said —"
"I know," Magnus said. "It was a dirty trick to play. A Clave sort of trick.
He has a lot of his father in him, your brother Jonathan."
A day before, an hour even. Clary would have told him not to say something
like that. Now she just bit her lip. "Isn't there anything I can do?" she
burst out. "There must be some way to get to Idris —"
She turned to him. "But you —"
"I'd have to disobey a direct order of the Clave to take you to Idris,
Clary," Magnus said. "I like you, but not that much."
She gave a choked laugh. "What about a Portal? If I could get to a Portal?"
"You can't. The Portals at Renwick's and Madam Dorothea's were destroyed,
and I've no idea where any other Portals might be. That sort of information
is closely guarded. And I have to tell you, Clary —"
"Let me guess. The Clave has instructed you not to help me in any way."
Clary spoke bitterly. "I know how they work by now. If Jace made some sort
of deal with them, then they were probably pretty thorough in giving him
what he asked for."
"What did he ask for?" Magnus asked, his cat's eyes sparking with curiosity.
"I think he told them that he'd bring them Simon if they could promise I'd
be kept out of whatever's going on in Idris," Clary said, almost
reluctantly.
Magnus' mouth quirked up at the corner. "He must really love you."
"No," Clary said. "I think he just doesn't want me around."
Magnus muttered something. It sounded like an exasperated expletive followed
by the word Shadowhunters, but Clary couldn't be sure. "Look," he said.
"I'll do one thing, I'll tell you the name of the warlock who helped your
mother. It's Fell. Ragnor Fell. I'll do what I can to contact him, and I'll
make sure Jace knows that Fell is the one he needs to seek out. Beyond that,
I think Jace is probably right. Stay out of what's going on in Idris — it's
going to be a political disaster area."
She looked up at him. The light of the witchlight stone caught the edges of
his sharp cheekbones and the gold in his cat eyes. "But Simon," she said.
"Do you think he'll be all right?"
"I'm sure he'll be fine," Magnus said, but she had caught the slight
hesitation in his voice before he spoke. She said nothing in reply, just
turned the witchlight stone over in her fingers, watching the light flicker
across the dark green material of her coat. Just an hour ago, she'd been so
happy to put it on —
"Simon is something very special, Clary," added Magnus. "A vampire who can
withstand daylight. He's not helpless. He may not need your protection. He
would do well to learn to use the gifts he has." He stood up, a
spectacularly tall and thin figure, dark and spidery in the dim light. "As
would you."

Mamma Mia!
I already emailed Olivia a few days ago saying that I'd like to go to the ROM, so it looks there's some competition. Oh well, I'm probably going to go sometime this summer with Mom and my brother.
There's been a huge revision of Into The Light, so prepare to read within the next few days and keep an open mind. All the scenes already read will still be included at some point but with both minor and major changes. I can't wait for you guys to read!
I'll be ordering Into The Night very soon, once I have money from the people who would like a copy. I can't wait for that either!

Blah...
Lately I've been writing alot, more then usual. I get random urges to write, because I'm random like that.
Last night I finished the first Vampire Diaries. And now I'm on the second book, which I already don't like much... grrr Damon.
Livi, if you still need another person I havent been to the ROM in awhile so I'd like to come to. And I havent that much of you this summer, maybe once or twice.
Whoa, that was a really pointless blog wasnt it?

Family Reunion
I am going back to church with Emma tomorrow, excited for that too. I would like to mention that while I was in Portugal I donated for a reconstruction of a church in some areas, because it was starting to break up. I was quite pleased with myself :P. I encountered two extremely sacreligious things while there though, that I forgot to mention. So, there's this statue there of Jesus Christ, and on top of his head and on both of his arms they had metal poles! For airplanes! Oh my god, it was so weird. I took a picture. There was a metal pole with a light on Jesus' head! And another thing, I was in the gift shop inside of the statue (not of Jesus, but there's a part below it) and a lady tried to rip me off! INSIDE A STATUE OF JESUS, AND ABOVE A CHURCH!!! I bought something that was 8 euros and gave her twenty, she gave me 2 euros back. She tried to rip me off 10 euros!! 10! God...
Livi, if you don't already have two people coming to the ROM with you, I would like to go. I haven't seen you since school let out! Give me a call, or I'll call you or something. I just have to see if I'm busy on Wednesday. Well, I gotta go, my family will be arriving any minute. See you!

Puppies =)
Well, I guess I havent really blogged in awhile. Not much as gone on. I got a pair of converse for a my birthday and some other stuff which is also for my birthday, we went shopping on Queen street and I got on MOD sorta. I was in the background with my famous dopey expression. Tim Degan waved to me which was kinda cool.
In other news, I finished the whole Flowers in the Attic series. I cried at the end because of a mix of happiness and saddness that it was over. I'm now reading Vampire Diaries which is pretty good and I think will be nice to read right before Breaking Dawn.
I guess I shall be off, to read and write!

Whew. So I have to rehearse some lines for a play we're gonna do at camp. The counsellors chose a scene from Little Women. I'm Meg, the oldest sister. It sounds like fun... sorta. New counsellor, Karen is gone... :( our new one is... strange. Ah well.

Welcome back to the New World!
So, I felt that I must also mention that I read both Wicked Lovely and Ink Exchange, both of which I love and both of which are entirely different. I'm serious, they hardly feel as if they're the same series. But they're both AWESOME! Really, I'm kind of upset that anyone else (including you) is reading them because they feel so much my own. I already call both Seth and Irial for me, no exceptions. Keenan and Niall you can have I guess. I like them too though, just not as much. But it's all about opinion. Warning, Ink Exchange is horrifyingly dark compared to Wicked Lovely, and you'll be sucked in even more despite loving one more than the other. I read them both in the U.S.A. Actually, specifically in Virginia for book 2 which is also where the author Melissa Marr currently lives. I'm adding her website to our list.
I'm in Barrie right now for a week, at my Grammy's with Maple. I'll try to read everyone's chapters and such soon, it's just been very busy the past few days what with all the visitor's who were lots of excitement, and the Fun Fest. I'm just very exhausted right now.
I'm desperately craving to go back to San Fransisco and the ocean. I want to watch Gossip Girl. I wonder if it's on TV.

CAMP!!! :D:D:D:D:D!! I'm going tomorrow!!! There isn't an emoticon with a smile big enough to express my joy! I ♥ camp. I'm gonna need some money for Turkish delight! Mmmmmmmmm.....
I baked a very yummy cake. It's just the thing to lift my spirits after failing in so many other baking exploits.

I'M HOOOOOOMMMMMEEEEE!!!!!!!
In the subject of reading, I read a few books in Portugal. The Vampire Diaries are amazing books. They are up there with City Of Bones. If you haven't read them, I suggest you get up and go buy them now. Seriously, they are that good. The Lighthouse Trilogy is also amazing. The first one, The Lighthouse Land, I read while I was there. It was so good, I couldn't put it down. It isn't as good as The Vampire Diaries, but still, very good. The second book, The Lighthouse War, is already out, I'm buying it soon, if any of you are interested. The Hollow People, I thought, was pretty good. I can't wait to read the next one to find out what happens, but I don't think I would charge such a thin book as $20.00. If any of you who haven't read it want to, wait for it on softcover or borrow it. Lastly, I have started Wicked Lovely. It is amazing!! I already feel like it will be up there with the best. I am not even that far in - 100 pages or so - and I already can't stop reading. Seriously, if you don't own it, buy it. It's worth it. The second one, Ink Exchange is also out, and I will be buying it. And there is my book reccomendations.
Now that that's out of the way :P, I suppose I will discuss the flight home. Not so good. I had to wake up at 3:30 AM Portugal time, and I only ended up getting those three hours of sleep because of the party outside that went till midnight. On the plane, there was this dumb kid in front of my who kept peering at me continuously and standing up on the chair, turning around and seeing what I was doing. I was really annoyed. The food was of course, gross. I hardly ate anything in those eight hours. I was so hungry when I got home. The trip to Portugal was great, but I hated the flights. Oh well, you can't win them all right? So, now I am off to send you chapters. Prepare to read!

Fun Fest
I sang Listen from Dreamgirls as my artist piece, sang Le Violette (aka the Italian pera song) and won FIRST place, then performed You're The Inspiration by Chicago with the group, and we won FIRST place again. Katie came to watch, and so did my Grammy as well as my family, and we went to an Italian bakery for coffee and canoli's afterwards. Lot's of fun! What places did George come in?
Tomorrow we're having a barbeque with some of my parents old friends, my grandparents, my cousins Justin and Abby, and basically everyone I haven't seen for a long time. I can't wait! Then I'm going to my grandma's for a week.
My muscles hurt from karate yesterday. I have to sleep on the futon in the basement tonight. I'm watching The Trailer Park Boys.
Emma
Bwaaaaaa...
Alicia, it sounds awesome there, but i guess you're home by now or will be soon! By the way, fourth century is 300 CE.
I'm going to camp next week.. Wooo. It'll be fun though.

Keep Blogging!!!
On another note, I had fun in the Algarve. I went to the southernmost point in Portugal, and went to a fort place. I also went to a castle that was built in the fourth century! That's the year 400! It was pretty cool, but they built this stupid restaurant in the middle of it that looked really weird among the old walls. We also went to this archeological museum. They built the building around this big brick hole they excavated, and next to it is a whole wall that they excavated! The hole goes reallt deep into the ground, with winding stairs but it's closed to the public. I really wanted to go in though. We also went to this cork museum, which was basically just the history of cork. There was also machines they use to make cork and stuff. I was listening to Sound Of Music while we went through it. At the end there was a gift shop and they had a barbie wearing a dress made out of cork. It was really funny.
On my last day in the Algarve we went to the beach. It was a nice beach, and it was a good day for it, but it was kind of crowded, which I don't like. We're going to the beach today too, and it shouldn't be crowded because most people are at work. Hopefully it's not windy!
Lastly, I come home in two days. I don't see the point of me even going to bed on Saturday because I have to wake up around 3:30 AM to get to the airport. We have to be there three hours before the plane takes off. We're going to have to wait in a huge line to check in our luggage, and then we have to do customs when I get back to Canada. I am really excited to be coming home though, I miss everyone. I don't think I've ever missed my friends this much on a trip like this. So, I'll see you all when I get home! And keep blogging!

July City Of Glass Cookie From Cassie Clare
said you’d changed your mind about coming. He said you wanted to stay
with your mother!”
“Jace lied,” Clary said flatly. “He didn’t want me here, so he lied to
me about when you were leaving, and then lied to you about me changing
my mind. Remember when you told me he never lies? That was so not
true.”
“He normally never does,” said Isabelle, who had gone rather pale.
“Look, did you come here -- I mean, does this have something to do
with Simon?”
“With Simon? No. Simon’s safe in New York, thank God. Although he’s
going to be really pissed that I left without telling him.” Isabelle’s
blank expression was starting to annoy Clary. “Come on, Isabelle. Let
me in. I need to see Jace.”
“So . . . You just came here on your own? Did you have permission from
the Clave? Please tell me you had permission from the Clave.” There
was a pleading note in Isabelle’s voice.
“Not as such --”
“You broke the Law?” Isabelle’s voice rose, then dropped. She went on,
almost in a whisper, “If Jace finds out, he’ll freak. Clary, you’ve
got to go home.”
“No. I’m supposed to be here,” Clary said, not even sure herself quite
where her stubbornness was coming from. “And I need to talk to Jace.”
“Now isn’t a good time.” Isabelle looked around anxiously, as if
hoping there was someone she could appeal to to remove Clary from the
premises. “Please, just go back to New York. Please?”
“I thought you liked me, Izzy.” Clary went for the guilt.
Isabelle’s eyes widened further. She was wearing a white dress and had
her hair pinned up and looked younger than usual. Behind her Clary
could see a high-ceilinged entryway hung with antique-looking oil
paintings. “I do like you. It’s just that Jace -- oh my God, what are
you wearing? Where did you get fighting gear?”
Clary looked down at herself. “It’s a long story.”
“You can’t come in here like that. If Jace sees you --”
“Oh, so what if he sees me? Isabelle, I came here because of my mother
-- for my mother. Jace may not want me here, but he can’t make me stay
home. I’m supposed to be here. My mother would want me to do this for
her. You’d do it for your mother, wouldn’t you?”
“Of course I would,” Isabelle said. “But Clary, Jace has reasons --”
“Then I’d love to hear what they are.” Clary ducked under Isabelle’s
arm and into the house.
“Clary!” Isabelle yelped, and darted after her, but Clary was already
halfway down the hall. She saw, with the half of her mind that wasn’t
concentrating on dodging Isabelle, that the house was build like
Amatis’ -- tall and narrow -- but considerably larger and more richly
decorated. The hallway opened into a room with high windows that
looked out over a wide canal. White boats plied the water, their sails
drifting by like dandelion clocks tossed on the wind. A dark-haired
boy sat on a couch by one of the windows, reading a book.
“Sebastian!” Isabelle called. “Don’t let her go upstairs!”
The boy looked up, startled --and a moment later was in front of
Clary, blocking her path to the stairs. Clary skidded to a halt —
she’d never seen anyone move that fast before, except Jace. The boy
wasn’t even out of breath; in fact, he was smiling at her.
“So this is the famous Clary." His smile lit up his face, and Clary
felt her breath catch.
For years she'd drawn her own ongoing graphic novel, which she'd
hardly ever showed to anyone, the tale of a king's son who was under a
curse that meant that everyone he loved would die. She'd been awfully
proud of the dark, romantic, shadowy prince she'd created — and here
he was, standing in front of her: the same pale skin, the same
tumbling black hair and deep-set, shadowed eyes. The same high
cheekbones and black fringe of lashes. She knew she’d never set eyes
on this boy before, and yet —
“I’m Sebastian Verlac.” He held out his hand. "Aline's cousin."
“Sebastian!" Isabelle's hair had come out of its pins and hung down
over her shoulders, and she was glaring.“Don’t be nice to her. She’s
not supposed to be here. Clary, go home.”

I Miss You Guys So Much!
I am now back from up North. I got a lot of writing done up there, on both of my stories. Prepare to read a lot when I get home. We've rented the car to go up to the Algarve on Monday, and I pray I can get internet up there, otherwise it's four days without any communication with you guys. I think I'd die.
If I do get cut off from the internet, I'll tell you all about it when I get back. Sara, what are Pilates? I need to know, so I can start doing them. Sheesh. Emma, glad to hear you are having a good time! I am jealous. Like Cody, I am green from head to toe. I wish I could have seen this cute guy, did you get pictures? I expect to see tons of pictures when you get back missy.
Until then, I miss you all sooooooo much. I'll see all of you when I get back.

Firelight
Went to Hard Rock Cafe for dinner too. Veggie burger was good. I can hear fireworks going. We're going to watch some tomorrow. Yay!
Don't worry about me Cody, the looks were anything but that. And yeah, the guy was just that cute. But Lisa is always there in the background at least. And continue to watch that Gilmore Girls!
Gotta do research. Showers in campgrounds are weird. Freaky freaky South Carolina has mini golf on EVERY street corner! Cute guys at Broadway on the Beach.
Emma
La da dee... la da du... la da dum...
This may sound really weird and random, but I started doing Pilates (you may laugh at me but its a good exercise.) Some of the exercises aren't that hard and they tone up your tummy very well. If you combine that with some sit ups its really good for exercise.
I really need to learn how to say "no", because whenever someone asks me to hang out or go somewhere I can't say no, and now I'm broke. So now i have to say no because I'm broke and all I can do is sit at home and do my pilates.
Well I have to go... soccer practice...joy.

Longest Blog I've Ever Written
The title may confuse you, but read on. I don't think I've ever covered so many random topics in one sitting before. Plus I came up with the title after writing it.
So I actually did something active today, in the form of swimming. I went with my mom and swam for almost an hour straight. Back and forth and back and forth. It was awesome, except for the fact that I am now completely exhausted. I've watched five episodes of Gilmore Girls so far today, and will probably venture back downstairs.
Emma, your trip sounds awesome! I am completely jealous, except for the fact that your trailer doesn't have air-conditioning. Other than that, the monster has reared it's ugly head and I'm green head to toe. Your swimsuit sounds fabulous, never underestimate a good bikini. Was the guy really that cute? I want pictures! Although, Mya sounds adorable, but be careful. I heard this woman at the pool going on about how her 14-year-old daughter kept getting looked at like "here's another teenage mother" while holding her baby sister. I'm warning you.
So other than the fact that Alicia and Emma are soaking up the sun at beaches, what's everyone else doing? I'm going to camp next week, and various activities this week, but nothing super special. Here's a funny story. For those who know who Kenny G is, I puked while reading the liner notes in his c.d. He's terrible, but I was burping and hiccuping, and just physically puked while reading his liner notes. Has anyone heard from Sophie? After Wonderland, no e-mails or blogs(recent, I haven't looked that far back). Did she get eaten by a random farm animal that got lost off the ranch and stumbled into her house?
Oh, and Emma don't worry about reading the chapters until you get back. Alicia and Jeanette have sent feedback(Sara why haven't you?) So I'm fine if you're too busy having fun on the beach with hot guys(any pity tears for me yet?), although if you can feedback would be great. Anyways, LYLAS to you all, I think this is the longest I've ever blogged. I only have time because I'm probably driving my boyfriend crazy by being away every time he calls(hehehe). He really needs to call me back......

Before I forget, thanks for the well wishing you guys, and yes Alicia, Europeans eat huge amounts of food! Think about how I eat a three or four course meal at my Nanna's house, and I don't eat meat! Americans eat lots of food too, but there's a big difference. They have a lot of fat-filled foods instead of using spices for flavour like we do in Canada, and there serving sizes are at least twice the size of ours. Seriously, even a small coke is our large size. And at every highway exit they have a McDonalds.
I'm down here in the Southern United States of America with my family, and my Mom's best friend's family. Her friend's name is Lisa, her husband Ed, and her two little kids Mya (4 years old), and baby Olivia (18 months old). Mya talks A LOT. Olivia's quiet, but she makes the most adorable faces when she scrunches her nose. I love them both and I'm actually good with these kids.
Sunday morning I woke up at 4'o clock AM. In the morning! We hopped in the truck with the tent trailer behind us, met up with Lisa in Burlington where they live, grabbed Tim Hortons's (obviously) and crossed the border to the US. We went through Buffalo in New York state first, then headed down to Pennsylvania. We passed Pittsburgh and were there for a while looking for a washroom. Driving in America is hell even with books and Ipods because there interstates (highways) have almost no rest stops on them. Miles and miles of open road and full bladder.
We went through West Virginia late that day, with their greenery and adult entertainment billboards. We slept over there in a Best Western. I was exhausted. Did I mention that only today I'm getting over a sinus infection? Well yeah, it sucks. But the ocean clears you out so I feel better.
Yesterday we drove West Virginia's Appalachian Mountains. And not only do I mean 'on' the mountains, but 'in' the mountains. They had two tunnels for us to travel through the beautiful scenery too. So much greenery and so many rivers and views. It's really beautiful there.
On the other side of one tunnel, we drove really quickly through Virginia state, and into North Carolina. I rested my eyes for a lot of it because we'll be driving through on our way home. We finally got to South Carolina late yesterday, and trust me, it's a humid heaven down here at Myrtle Beach. I'll show you pictures when I get home.
So American campgrounds are very different than Canadian ones. The campsites are all squished together, and everyone has a Southern twang. I saw some cute guys from Kentucky in their car yesterday as we came into South Carolina.
But, we're in our tent trailer right beside the washrooms and showers, the general store, and the ATLANTIC OCEAN. I just went swimming in salt water and my skin is nice and soft. It's the original wave pool, and there's a fishing pier that's beautiful with it's lights at nighttime. The water is icy blue and tastes sooo salty that we're going to be craving sweet foods and tons of water. It's beautiful though. Plus there was a really cute guy on the beach. Dark hair, light brown eyes, you know, a good view. He was sitting under the umbrella beside us, and there were a few shared glances. I love my blue, brown and gold bikini bathing suit! It helps that I had Olivia there to attract attention. Babies are so cute! (And attention grabbers ;)
We're heading into town later. Let me tell you, it's very very hot outside, so we're going to get some air conditioning there and hopefully some ice cream and shopping. We will probably go visit a plantation just outside Georgia called the Magnolia Plantation. It is sooo pretty and sooo historical. Two of my favourite attributes. Look at the pictures, because I can't load any from our trip until I get back home.
I'm trying to convince my Dad to let us go down to Georgia before heading back up for our drive home. I love it here down South. You should all call me the second I get home, probably on Saturday morning before my accent starts to go back to normal. You wouldn't believe how easy it is for me to forget how to say a word with our accent. I keep catching myself dropping 'g' at the end of my words, and also saying 'a' as a consonant. I'm turning American! Ahhh! But don't worry, I used a Tim Horton's sugar packet in my two cups of coffee this morning, so I'm good. (For now at least). We're going to the Myrtle Beach boardwalk soon, and Mya wants me to play with her before we head out. She's lucky. Lisa's family has a trailer with air conditioning. We have fans, but they're okay. It's a nice temperature out. Nothing unbearable. I can see palm trees right at this moment. I hope at least one of you guys is a little jealous. It helps my self esteem.
See you soon! I hope to blog again later and I'll try to read your chapters Cody, but no promises. I have to do research on different places to do as we do down south.
See y'all later baby dolls!

FIne Sara, I'm blogging
I think Emma left for the States today, so I wish her happy travels, and if you see Bush, give him a wedgie. Alicia finally e-mailed us from Portugal, aweosme, I hope she reads my chapters (I'm not joking something French). When do people get back? I feel like the friend that got left behind in Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. Tibby right? Well Sara and I can be Tibby.
I finished reading Jane Eyre, it's such a great book, I highly suggest all read it, it's by Charolette Bronte. I mlove the way she ends up with Mr.Rochester. It's so adorable. Well, now I'm reading I am Legend, and it's interesting. And Sara, going into Chapters and not buying anythign is WEIRD! I can't go in becasue my reading list is so big, and I know if I went in, I'd have to buy something, so I am avoiding the stores at all costs.
