July City Of Glass Cookie From Cassie Clare

“But you’re supposed to be in New York!” Isabelle exclaimed. “Jace
said you’d changed your mind about coming. He said you wanted to stay
with your mother!”
“Jace lied,” Clary said flatly. “He didn’t want me here, so he lied to
me about when you were leaving, and then lied to you about me changing
my mind. Remember when you told me he never lies? That was so not
true.”
“He normally never does,” said Isabelle, who had gone rather pale.
“Look, did you come here -- I mean, does this have something to do
with Simon?”
“With Simon? No. Simon’s safe in New York, thank God. Although he’s
going to be really pissed that I left without telling him.” Isabelle’s
blank expression was starting to annoy Clary. “Come on, Isabelle. Let
me in. I need to see Jace.”
“So . . . You just came here on your own? Did you have permission from
the Clave? Please tell me you had permission from the Clave.” There
was a pleading note in Isabelle’s voice.
“Not as such --”
“You broke the Law?” Isabelle’s voice rose, then dropped. She went on,
almost in a whisper, “If Jace finds out, he’ll freak. Clary, you’ve
got to go home.”
“No. I’m supposed to be here,” Clary said, not even sure herself quite
where her stubbornness was coming from. “And I need to talk to Jace.”
“Now isn’t a good time.” Isabelle looked around anxiously, as if
hoping there was someone she could appeal to to remove Clary from the
premises. “Please, just go back to New York. Please?”
“I thought you liked me, Izzy.” Clary went for the guilt.
Isabelle’s eyes widened further. She was wearing a white dress and had
her hair pinned up and looked younger than usual. Behind her Clary
could see a high-ceilinged entryway hung with antique-looking oil
paintings. “I do like you. It’s just that Jace -- oh my God, what are
you wearing? Where did you get fighting gear?”
Clary looked down at herself. “It’s a long story.”
“You can’t come in here like that. If Jace sees you --”
“Oh, so what if he sees me? Isabelle, I came here because of my mother
-- for my mother. Jace may not want me here, but he can’t make me stay
home. I’m supposed to be here. My mother would want me to do this for
her. You’d do it for your mother, wouldn’t you?”
“Of course I would,” Isabelle said. “But Clary, Jace has reasons --”
“Then I’d love to hear what they are.” Clary ducked under Isabelle’s
arm and into the house.
“Clary!” Isabelle yelped, and darted after her, but Clary was already
halfway down the hall. She saw, with the half of her mind that wasn’t
concentrating on dodging Isabelle, that the house was build like
Amatis’ -- tall and narrow -- but considerably larger and more richly
decorated. The hallway opened into a room with high windows that
looked out over a wide canal. White boats plied the water, their sails
drifting by like dandelion clocks tossed on the wind. A dark-haired
boy sat on a couch by one of the windows, reading a book.
“Sebastian!” Isabelle called. “Don’t let her go upstairs!”
The boy looked up, startled --and a moment later was in front of
Clary, blocking her path to the stairs. Clary skidded to a halt —
she’d never seen anyone move that fast before, except Jace. The boy
wasn’t even out of breath; in fact, he was smiling at her.
“So this is the famous Clary." His smile lit up his face, and Clary
felt her breath catch.
For years she'd drawn her own ongoing graphic novel, which she'd
hardly ever showed to anyone, the tale of a king's son who was under a
curse that meant that everyone he loved would die. She'd been awfully
proud of the dark, romantic, shadowy prince she'd created — and here
he was, standing in front of her: the same pale skin, the same
tumbling black hair and deep-set, shadowed eyes. The same high
cheekbones and black fringe of lashes. She knew she’d never set eyes
on this boy before, and yet —
“I’m Sebastian Verlac.” He held out his hand. "Aline's cousin."
“Sebastian!" Isabelle's hair had come out of its pins and hung down
over her shoulders, and she was glaring.“Don’t be nice to her. She’s
not supposed to be here. Clary, go home.”

I Miss You Guys So Much!

Hi you guys! So, I believe the title is self-explanatory. I'm having a surge of missing all you guys! I feel so out of everything over here! I have over 300 pictures now I do believe, and I need to show them to you guys when I get home. I get back on Sunday, one week from now. I can't wait to see you all when I get back.

I am now back from up North. I got a lot of writing done up there, on both of my stories. Prepare to read a lot when I get home. We've rented the car to go up to the Algarve on Monday, and I pray I can get internet up there, otherwise it's four days without any communication with you guys. I think I'd die.

If I do get cut off from the internet, I'll tell you all about it when I get back. Sara, what are Pilates? I need to know, so I can start doing them. Sheesh. Emma, glad to hear you are having a good time! I am jealous. Like Cody, I am green from head to toe. I wish I could have seen this cute guy, did you get pictures? I expect to see tons of pictures when you get back missy.

Until then, I miss you all sooooooo much. I'll see all of you when I get back.

Okay, so I went back to Canada's land of Wonders again today. For those who are half dead, I'm talking about Wonderland. Jeanette and I woke up early and went. It was so much fun. I topped my old record of getting on 13 rides, because Jeanette and I got on 14. I went on Behemoth 4 times today. I can hold my arms up for the first drop now, adn it's way more fun to sit at the back of the ride than the front. We went on Jet Scream last, adn they had to open and close the restraints five times because fat people were complaining about their legs being squished. SHor post today, got thai for dinner.

Firelight

It's so pretty, the flame, the red and orange, the heat... that's what I'm looking at now. And websites of plantations to stop at on the way home. I can't go to Magnolia tomorrow, so we might be stopping at Rose Hill.
Went to Hard Rock Cafe for dinner too. Veggie burger was good. I can hear fireworks going. We're going to watch some tomorrow. Yay!
Don't worry about me Cody, the looks were anything but that. And yeah, the guy was just that cute. But Lisa is always there in the background at least. And continue to watch that Gilmore Girls!
Gotta do research. Showers in campgrounds are weird. Freaky freaky South Carolina has mini golf on EVERY street corner! Cute guys at Broadway on the Beach.

La da dee... la da du... la da dum...

Sorry Cody for not being able to read your story. I just don't get time to go on the computer but I promise I will soon read it, atleast by the end of the week. It's really quite sad, you story is the only one in my inbox and I still can't find time to read it. What will happen when Emma and Alicia are back and sending me their stories too?

This may sound really weird and random, but I started doing Pilates (you may laugh at me but its a good exercise.) Some of the exercises aren't that hard and they tone up your tummy very well. If you combine that with some sit ups its really good for exercise.

I really need to learn how to say "no", because whenever someone asks me to hang out or go somewhere I can't say no, and now I'm broke. So now i have to say no because I'm broke and all I can do is sit at home and do my pilates.

Well I have to go... soccer practice...joy.

Longest Blog I've Ever Written

Heii guys,
The title may confuse you, but read on. I don't think I've ever covered so many random topics in one sitting before. Plus I came up with the title after writing it.
So I actually did something active today, in the form of swimming. I went with my mom and swam for almost an hour straight. Back and forth and back and forth. It was awesome, except for the fact that I am now completely exhausted. I've watched five episodes of Gilmore Girls so far today, and will probably venture back downstairs.
Emma, your trip sounds awesome! I am completely jealous, except for the fact that your trailer doesn't have air-conditioning. Other than that, the monster has reared it's ugly head and I'm green head to toe. Your swimsuit sounds fabulous, never underestimate a good bikini. Was the guy really that cute? I want pictures! Although, Mya sounds adorable, but be careful. I heard this woman at the pool going on about how her 14-year-old daughter kept getting looked at like "here's another teenage mother" while holding her baby sister. I'm warning you.
So other than the fact that Alicia and Emma are soaking up the sun at beaches, what's everyone else doing? I'm going to camp next week, and various activities this week, but nothing super special. Here's a funny story. For those who know who Kenny G is, I puked while reading the liner notes in his c.d. He's terrible, but I was burping and hiccuping, and just physically puked while reading his liner notes. Has anyone heard from Sophie? After Wonderland, no e-mails or blogs(recent, I haven't looked that far back). Did she get eaten by a random farm animal that got lost off the ranch and stumbled into her house?
Oh, and Emma don't worry about reading the chapters until you get back. Alicia and Jeanette have sent feedback(Sara why haven't you?) So I'm fine if you're too busy having fun on the beach with hot guys(any pity tears for me yet?), although if you can feedback would be great. Anyways, LYLAS to you all, I think this is the longest I've ever blogged. I only have time because I'm probably driving my boyfriend crazy by being away every time he calls(hehehe). He really needs to call me back......

South Carolina

Is where I currently am! Thank God for free campground internet access! Seriously, anywhere in this park it's available if you know the password. "thing99other". Don't worry it changes every week.

Before I forget, thanks for the well wishing you guys, and yes Alicia, Europeans eat huge amounts of food! Think about how I eat a three or four course meal at my Nanna's house, and I don't eat meat! Americans eat lots of food too, but there's a big difference. They have a lot of fat-filled foods instead of using spices for flavour like we do in Canada, and there serving sizes are at least twice the size of ours. Seriously, even a small coke is our large size. And at every highway exit they have a McDonalds.

I'm down here in the Southern United States of America with my family, and my Mom's best friend's family. Her friend's name is Lisa, her husband Ed, and her two little kids Mya (4 years old), and baby Olivia (18 months old). Mya talks A LOT. Olivia's quiet, but she makes the most adorable faces when she scrunches her nose. I love them both and I'm actually good with these kids.

Sunday morning I woke up at 4'o clock AM. In the morning! We hopped in the truck with the tent trailer behind us, met up with Lisa in Burlington where they live, grabbed Tim Hortons's (obviously) and crossed the border to the US. We went through Buffalo in New York state first, then headed down to Pennsylvania. We passed Pittsburgh and were there for a while looking for a washroom. Driving in America is hell even with books and Ipods because there interstates (highways) have almost no rest stops on them. Miles and miles of open road and full bladder.
We went through West Virginia late that day, with their greenery and adult entertainment billboards. We slept over there in a Best Western. I was exhausted. Did I mention that only today I'm getting over a sinus infection? Well yeah, it sucks. But the ocean clears you out so I feel better.

Yesterday we drove West Virginia's Appalachian Mountains. And not only do I mean 'on' the mountains, but 'in' the mountains. They had two tunnels for us to travel through the beautiful scenery too. So much greenery and so many rivers and views. It's really beautiful there.
On the other side of one tunnel, we drove really quickly through Virginia state, and into North Carolina. I rested my eyes for a lot of it because we'll be driving through on our way home. We finally got to South Carolina late yesterday, and trust me, it's a humid heaven down here at Myrtle Beach. I'll show you pictures when I get home.

So American campgrounds are very different than Canadian ones. The campsites are all squished together, and everyone has a Southern twang. I saw some cute guys from Kentucky in their car yesterday as we came into South Carolina.

But, we're in our tent trailer right beside the washrooms and showers, the general store, and the ATLANTIC OCEAN. I just went swimming in salt water and my skin is nice and soft. It's the original wave pool, and there's a fishing pier that's beautiful with it's lights at nighttime. The water is icy blue and tastes sooo salty that we're going to be craving sweet foods and tons of water. It's beautiful though. Plus there was a really cute guy on the beach. Dark hair, light brown eyes, you know, a good view. He was sitting under the umbrella beside us, and there were a few shared glances. I love my blue, brown and gold bikini bathing suit! It helps that I had Olivia there to attract attention. Babies are so cute! (And attention grabbers ;)
We're heading into town later. Let me tell you, it's very very hot outside, so we're going to get some air conditioning there and hopefully some ice cream and shopping. We will probably go visit a plantation just outside Georgia called the Magnolia Plantation. It is sooo pretty and sooo historical. Two of my favourite attributes. Look at the pictures, because I can't load any from our trip until I get back home.

I'm trying to convince my Dad to let us go down to Georgia before heading back up for our drive home. I love it here down South. You should all call me the second I get home, probably on Saturday morning before my accent starts to go back to normal. You wouldn't believe how easy it is for me to forget how to say a word with our accent. I keep catching myself dropping 'g' at the end of my words, and also saying 'a' as a consonant. I'm turning American! Ahhh! But don't worry, I used a Tim Horton's sugar packet in my two cups of coffee this morning, so I'm good. (For now at least). We're going to the Myrtle Beach boardwalk soon, and Mya wants me to play with her before we head out. She's lucky. Lisa's family has a trailer with air conditioning. We have fans, but they're okay. It's a nice temperature out. Nothing unbearable. I can see palm trees right at this moment. I hope at least one of you guys is a little jealous. It helps my self esteem.

See you soon! I hope to blog again later and I'll try to read your chapters Cody, but no promises. I have to do research on different places to do as we do down south.

See y'all later baby dolls!

-Emma
